We, the members of the Optimist Club of the Blue Ridge, pledge to uphold one
another in our mutual practice of optimism and our commitment to children. To
these ends we agree together:
to promote the literacy, self-esteem, and general well-being of the youth of Charlottesville-Albemarle and surrounding areas. to offer financial support to organizations or individuals whose work directly touches the lives of children in our community. to share our time and abilities with other agencies and endeavors whose work helps create an environment that nurtures children and youth. to provide a forum for those whose work forwards the cause of youth in our community, our nation, and our world. We pledge ourselvses to this mission in the belief that the giving of ourselves in service to each other and to youth will promote our individual well-being, the human community, and the principles of optimism.
