Camp Holiday Trails - A Charlottesville 75-acre summer camp for children with chronic illnesses and physical impairments. Optimists participate in the camp's Adopt-A-Cabin program in which local service organizations maintains one of the 12 cabins at the camp and sees to it that it is ready each year for the campers.

YMCA child-care facility - Renovation fo the Westfiled Road facility in Charlottesville. The Optimists honored three UVA students belonging to the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity.

I CAN/WE CAN - A program of hands-on learning for low-income youth. Founded in 1992 and located at Chivelli Farm in Albemarle County. The programs provide an agricultural setting for at-risk young people from Charlottesville/Albemarle to participate in educational programs.

Barrett Day Care Center - The Optimists provided funding for learning materials at the Barrett Day Care Center. The Center is a private, non-profit organization aimed at providing high-quality and affordable care and educational opportunities to pre-school tots.
